Nestled in the heart of Palmer Square directly across from Princeton University, is the beautiful Nassau Inn. The original Nassau Tavern was built by Judge Thomas Leonard in 1756. However in 1759 after the death of the Judge, his own beautiful and elegant town residence was turned into the College Inn. At the turn of the 19th century the College Inn was renamed The Nassau Inn.
There's my crew...they look so cozy sitting next to that roaring fire!
The Inn boast 188 guest rooms and specialty suites along with 14 gorgeous banquet facilities.
Which can be transformed into this...
And then there is the charming Yankee Doodle tap room.
This tap room houses a wall of pictures of famous Princeton alumni including....
Brooke Shields ~ Class of 1987
Jimmy Stewart ~ Class of 1932
Charles L. "Pete" Conrad Jr. ~ Class of 1953
Apollo 12 ~ Took the Princeton flag to the moon.
And one of my favorite newscasters, Charlie Gibson ~ Class of 1965
Plus many many more!
So if you are ever in the Princeton area the Nassau Inn is simply a must see! I couldn't resist posting this beautifully decorated Inn especially as it is all dressed for the Christmas season. I have more to share with you about our trip today to Princeton, including of course the fabulous architecture of Princeton University.
Have a wonderful day!!!
